Afghanistan: US Embassy in Kabul

As one of the darkest periods of Afghanistan, the Taliban troops have taken over the Presidential Palace after claiming the capital city Kabul. The development of Kabul going into the Taliban’s hands resulted in a chaotic situation.

People living in the Taliban hit Afghanistan are fearing that they will be terrorized by the Taliban troops. As a result, people are rushing towards the airport to flee from the nation.

The news of Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani leaving the country had added fuel to the fears of the people. The war that had lasted for over two decades had ended in the favour of the Taliban with the troops claiming control on major parts of the country.

The President announced the news of leaving the country through a Facebook post saying that he took the decision to leave the country as a bid to avoid the possible bloodshed.

As an example to show how scary the situation is in Afghanistan, people in the country have rushed towards the Airport. The visuals captured at the airport show people bulldozing into the plane in order to flee from the country.

BBC journalist Nicola Careem took to social media to share the shocking visuals of people not leaving any stone unturned to get into the plane to leave the nation. With other countries not lending a helping hand to Afghanistan is making things even worse.

‘This is, perhaps, one of the saddest images I’ve seen from #Afghanistan. A people who are desperate and abandoned. No aid agencies, no UN, no government. Nothing,’ the journalist tweeted.

On the flip side, the United States Embassy in Kabul had appealed to the people in Afghanistan to not reach Airport until further notice. Saying that the situation has turned unsafe, the embassy urged them to remain safe.

Women and lady students are feeling extreme fear in the country since the Taliban troops took over the country. They are not stepping out of their houses and if they step out of their houses, they are wearing full dresses.

It is said that troops from the United States are expected to reach Afghanistan. The troops will be on a mission to evacuate the US citizens and diplomats living in Afghanistan. The citizens in Afghanistan will also be evacuated.
