Nearly 45 lakh farmers have received the payment of Rs. 3000 under Annadata Sukhibhava scheme from the Government of Andhra Pradesh, as introduced by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. This is being called as a bumper bonanza for farmers just ahead of the elections and could be a game-changer for the TDP which could tilt the scales in favour of the yellow party.
Just yesterday alone, the government deposited nearly Rs 1,348 crore into the accounts of 44,96,128 farmers and the process will continue to cover the remaining beneficiaries in the coming days. Additionally, the TDP government will also deposit the final instalment of the Pasupu Kumkuma scheme tomorrow that will benefit 97 lakh women from DWCRA groups, who are a crucial vote bank. Fortunately, the Election Commission also gave a green signal for this scheme as the government could complete the identification & verification of beneficiaries before the election notification.
Despite the state government planning to deposit the amount in two phases under Annadata Sukhibhava of total of Rs. 4000, which includes with Centre’s Kiran Samman Nidhi of Rs. 2000, it started the process in the month of February by starting off with a deposit of Rs. 1000 each in the bank accounts of beneficiaries. Cleverly, it could begin the disbursal before the election notification was out, so that the Model Code of Conduct does to not interfere with the disbursal of second installment.
Not only this, but the TDP government also deposited the last two installments of the debt redemption scheme into the accounts of eligible farmers. Going by these payouts in the last moment, the TDP’s plan of winning farmers, DWCRA groups and other beneficiaries definitely could put the party in an advantageous position compared to its rival YSR Congress Party. As the YSRCP is making promises about its Navratnas when it comes to power, TDP has taken advantage of being in the government and has already implemented its promises.
