Asaduddin Owaisi’s All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen(AIMIM) based out of pearl city Hyderabad which was earlier confined to Telangana state has been spreading to other states.
The party contests in Muslim-dominated constituencies in other states and spreads its base. So far, the party representation in Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar. AIMIM is eyeing the forthcoming West Bengal polls.
Hyderabad MP, party chief Asaduddin Owaisi said, AIMIM would contest the upcoming Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu, and the final list of contesting candidates in Tamil Nadu would be announced soon.
He quoted the example of AIMIM candidates winning the Gujarat Local Body Polls. He said he would take a decision on Rajasthan after meeting the leaders and discussing with them.
According to the election schedule, the Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu will commence on April 6. The vote counting process will take place on May 2nd. Elections will be held for 234 Assembly constituencies.
The talks between BJP and AIADMK regarding the seat-sharing for the upcoming elections are underway. While BJP wants 60 seats, AIADMK is in the opinion to allot 20 plus seats reportedly.
The poll surveys state that voters are in favour of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and the party is likely to win the forthcoming Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu.
