The alleged land scam in the Amaravati region in Andhra Pradesh dubbed as Insider Trading is going through several twists and turns. After CID slapped notices to Chandrababu Naidu aka CBN, he moved the Andhra Pradesh High Court.
The Andhra Pradesh High Court heard the quash petition filed by the former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister today. After hearing the arguments, the High Court bench had quashed the CID cases against CBN and former Minister Narayana.
CBN and Naryana got a major sigh of relief with the Court orders as the duo need not appear before the Crime Investigation Department(CID) officials for investigation as asked by the CID.
Looking at the developments in the case, the CID which is probing into the alleged Amaravati land scam has served notices to CBN and Narayana on the grounds of acquiring lands that were allotted to SCs and STs.
On the 12th of March, the CID filed cases against Chandrababu Naidu and Narayana under SCs and STs (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, Section 7 of AP Assigned Lands (Prohibition of Transfer) Act, 1977, and several other sections.CBN and Narayana moved the High Court challenging CID notices on Thursday. The High Court heard the petition and gave a major sigh of relief to the duo.
Amaravati is the proposed capital region for Andhra Pradesh under the previous government after Telangana was carved out of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh. After the state was bifurcated without capital, the TDP had opted for Amartavato as the capital.
Jagan Mohan Reddy who has been alleging insider trading in the Amaravati region has focused especially after becoming the Chief Minister. The case was handed over to the CID
