Amit Shah phones TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday phoned Telugu Desam Party supremo N Chandrababu Naidu.

According to TDP sources, Amit Shah could not make time for Chandrababu as he arrived from Kashmir on Tuesday morning and had a cabinet meeting in the evening. It is heard the Minister said to Mr Naidu he would meet as soon as possible.

A team of TDP leaders led by Chandrababu on Monday met and appealed to President Ram Nath Kovind for a CBI probe into the incident, where YSRCP activists attacked the TDP office as well as the house of party national spokesperson Pattabhi Ram. A petition has been filed demanding the imposition of a presidential rule as the government itself is using the police to do business with marijuana, drugs and mafia in the state.

The party has also sought the appointment of Union Home Minister Amit Shah to explain the same. However, it was not possible. In this context, Amit Shah spoke to Chandrababu on the phone. Mr Naidu explained the situation in Andhra Pradesh and asked for the support of the Centre.

On the other side, Chandrababu Naidu will visit Kuppam on Friday and Saturday, PA Manohar said on Wednesday. It is known that his last three Kuppam tours were cancelled due to various reasons.
