Amitabh Bachchan feels honoured to be part of ‘Prabhas 21’: Congratulates Vyjayanthi for 50 years

As promised, the makers of Prabhas and Deepika Padukone’s upcoming project have surprised one & all by revealing a massive update. None other than the Megastar of Indian cinema, Amitabh Bachchan has been roped in for a full-length role in the magnum opus and taking to social media, Big B also expressed his excitement to be a part of this ambitious venture. He wrote on his handle “T 3685 – An honour and a privilege to be a part of this momentous & most ambitious venture .. and my greetings for the completion of 50 years for @VyjayanthiFilms .. may you celebrate another 50 .. and on !!”


The 27-second teaser introduces Amitabh with the words “How can we try to make a legendary film without the legend Amitabh Bachchan.” A glimpse of some iconic roles played by the 77-year-old thespian can also be seen in the clip. In his tweet, Amitabh also congratulated Vyjayanthi Movies for completing 50 Glorious Years in Indian cinema.
Commenting on Amitabh Bachchan being signed for the project, the film’s director Nag Ashwin said “I feel lucky and blessed that Bachchan Sir has selected our film among the many choices he has. It is a full-length role, which we believe will do justice to the legend that he is.” According to producer Ashwini Dutt, “After all these years, it is immensely satisfying for me to welcome Mr Bachchan for this prestigious movie.”
Scheduled for a release in 2022, the multilingual project is touted to be a first-of-its-kind sci-fi drama set in the backdrop of a third World War. While the visual extravaganza will be helmed on a massive scale with a hefty budget, veteran filmmaker Singeetham Srinivasa Rao is acting as the mentor for the project.
This will be the third collaboration between Amitabh and Deepika Padukone after ‘Aarakshan’ and ‘Piku’.
