It is well known that Heavy rains and strong winds hit Mumbai on Monday as Cyclone Tauktae intensified into a severe cyclonic storm that progressed towards the Gujarat coast. In numerous areas, trees were destroyed, local train services disrupted and the flight operations too were cancelled at the Mumbai airport.
Many Bollywood stars like Diana Penty, Amitabh Bachhan, Kajol, Swara Bhasker, Armaan Malik, Karthik Aaryan, Urmila Matondkar etc alerted Mumbaikars on Monday to stay home as cyclone was inching closer to Mumbai.
Unfortunately, Super star Amitabh Bachchan, one among many citizens in Mumbai too had wreckage of his office property as Cyclone hit Mumbai on Monday. The actor shared in his blog that his office, Janakwas flooded last night while the shelter area for his staff was devastated by the strong winds.
Apparently he donated is wardrobe to his staff members who assisted him to repair the damages and got drenched in the process. He wrote, “There is an eerie silence in the midst of the cyclone .. the pounding and the lashing rains all day .. trees fell, leakages all over , flooding in the vulnerable Janak Office .. impromptu plastic cover sheets still in prep for the heavy Monsoon rain , ripped apart .. sheds and shelters for some staff blown away ..BUT the spirit of fight impregnable .. all hands on deck .. stepping out , repairing , preventing helping in extenuating circumstances drenched .. but on it.”
