India’s leading industrialist Anand Mahindra will step down as Executive Chairman and will become the non-executive chairman from April 1st 2020. This announcement is officially acknowledged by Anand himself and Mahindra & Mahindra company in a statement and also announced their new team.
Anand Mahindra took over the role of Chairman of the board and Managing Director of the Mahindra Group in the year 2012. For nearly seven years, Anand brought many revolutionary changes in the company especially in its automobile sector.
Shortly after this announcement, Anand tweeted that, “Delighted to announce our leadership transition plan which reflects the Group’s commitment to good governance. I am grateful to the board & nominations committee for conducting a diligent & rigorous year-long process that will ensure a seamless transition.”
Apart from being a big industrialist, Anand is a social media enthusiast too. Be it saving water during summers or sharing his ‘WhatsApp Wonderbox’ Anand would constantly stay in the headlines on issues pertaining to anyone.
In place of Anand Mahindra, Pawan Kumar Goenka will take over the reins. Pawan has been re-appointed as managing director and he will also have the additional responsibilities of chief executive officer (CEO) starting from April 1st.
