Andhra: When Official Change Political Colours!

YSRCP honourary president Y S Vijayamma on Friday released a book “Pratidinam-Prajahitam,” a compilation of day-to-day activities of her son and Andhra Pradesh CM Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy in the last one year.

The book was published by the office of Advisor, National Media and Inter State Affairs, Government of Andhra Pradesh, Devulapalli Amar; and was written by Advisor’s Private Secretary and Information and Public Relations Department Divisional PRO Palepu Raja Sekhar.

The book is nothing but a compilation of all press releases issued by the Chief Minister’s Office on the official meetings chaired by Jagan Mohan Reddy, his official tours and the review meetings on various issues. It is a sort of an official record of the chief minister’s meetings.

Naturally, Vijayamma appreciated the book, as it explained in detail the amount of hard work her son had put in in the last one year to implement the promises made during his historic padayatra.

“I appreciate the Chief Minister for fulfilling 90 per cent of the promises made within one year of coming to power. He considers manifesto as Bhagavad Gita, Quran and Bible,” she said.

So far so good. But the government’s advisor and the writer of the book seem to have forgotten that the public memory is very short.

Not long ago, this same author – Palepu Rajasekhar had written a similar book with the title ‘Navyandhra Nirmanamlo Mundagulu” praising the leadership of Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu, when he was the chief minister.

The book, a compilation of similar articles highlighting the efforts of then chief minister in building a new Andhra Pradesh, was released by Naidu himself in the presence of then information minister Palle Raghunath Reddy.

The only difference is that the book on Naidu is yellow in colour in tune with the colour of the TDP and that on Jagan is in blue, reflecting the YSRC colour. The person posing for the photograph is same – Palepu Rajasekhar.

Well, one can understand that Rajasekhar is just an employee with Information and Public Relations department, but he cannot change the colours like politicians.

He should have refrained from publishing such books with public money and claim credit for writing books!
