AP BJP: Steel Plant privatisation has not been finalised yet

The news of privatisation of the Visakha Steel Plant has been met with widespread disdain. People working in the steel plant, and other people of Visakhapatnam are protesting against the Center’s wish to privatise the steel plant.

Members of the Andhra Pradesh BJP have recently been to Delhi, to discuss the matter with the BJP leaders. After staying in Delhi for 3 days, they are finally back in AP, and the statements they are passing are truly shocking for everyone. They are saying that the privatisation of the steel plant has not yet been finalised by the Center and that only the discussions and plans about privatising the plant are still going on.

A firm decision to privatise the steel plant has been taken in the union cabinet meetings, and this fact has been recorded as well. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman has been charged with the responsibility to privatise the steel plant. The cabinet secretary tweeted, confirming the decision of the cabinet to privatise the steel plant as well.

Despite all of this, the AP BJP members are saying that the centre has not yet taken a final decision on the privatisation of the steel plant. The reason for this is being stated as the fact that the AP BJP members who went to Delhi did not get a favourable reply from BJP leaders, regarding not privatising the plant. In turn, it is being speculated that the AP BJP members have been advised to counterattack and say that opposition parties are unnecessarily saying that the decision to privatise the plant is taken.
