-Mangalagiri has been declared as ‘Red Zone’ by the Guntur district Collector a few days ago and now the lockdown in the town has been extended to April 30th. Two Corona positive cases have been registered in the Mangalagiri in March last week and earlier this week. Following this a high alert has been imposed with tighter restrictions.

In case if the town reports more positive cases, the local police have decided to prolong the lockdown. Mangalagiri town CI Srinivasulu Reddy reportedly confirmed that the lockdown in the town will go on till April 30th and they are keeping strict vigilant on people’s movement.

The police are also appealing to the locals to wear masks and venture out during buying groceries and stuff. Meanwhile in Guntur district 50 Corona cases and one death is reported.

So irrespective of the lockdown by Centre ends on April 14th, Mangalagiri will be sealed as a precautionary measure. But the AP government sources are yet to acknowledge the decision of the cops.
