The AP government would have completed lift irrigation project smoothly but due to their controversial G.O of the Pothireddypadu expansion has made the other Telugu speaking state angry. The Telangana government brought the issue in front of the Krishna Board. The board finally stated that without the permission of the apex council, no construction is allowed.
So, it is very difficult to start the construction of the Rayalaseema lift irrigation project till the G.O gets passed and until then, the invitation to tenders will also be halted. Jagan is saying that there is no loss for the Telangana state due to this project and the water that will be sent to Rayalaseema from this project is well within the AP’s share.
But, Jagan didn’t say the same to the Telangana CM despite the fact they are very good friends. Otherwise, the Telangana officials wouldn’t have complained to the KRMB about the lift irrigation project. The AP government could’ve dealt the situation cleverly but they failed to communicate with the other government effectively.
So, now, the lift irrigation project is reminding us of many incomplete projects of the Andhra Pradesh and the Rayalaseema people are the people at risk here but not the government who is responsible for all the ruckus.
