The Andhra Pradesh government’s plans to develop three capitals for the state to ensure the decentralization of development went for a toss after the High Court directed the government to develop the Amaravati region as the capital. The court also said that the developed flats should be given to the farmers.
The High Court’s decision came as a big shock to the government and its supporters. After the verdict came, a discussion on what the government will do next had started among the public and the political observers.
Killing the suspense on what the government is going to do next in the issue, Andhra Pradesh Home Minister and Disaster Management Minister Mekathoti Sucharita gave information on the further course of action from the ruling party.
The Home Minister said that the government is focused on the decentralization of development in the state and the government will challenge the High Court’s verdict in the Supreme Court.
She reportedly said that the three capitals’ decision will bring overall development to the state. We are not moving the capital from Amaravati. It will be one of the capitals of the state and the rest of the state will also be developed.
The Chief Minister wants the whole state to be developed, not just Amaravati, she reportedly said.
