Arun Jaitley Admitted To AIIMS

Ex Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley was admitted to AIIMS, Delhi on Friday. Jaitley has been brought to hospital after he complained of palpitations (feeling of having a fast heart beating) and restlessness. 66-year-old Arun Jaitley was admitted to the Cardio-Neuro-Centre of the AIIMS hospital around 10 am today. A team of experts are constantly observing Jaitley. An experts team comprising of endocrinologists, cardiologists and nephrologists are said to be monitoring Jaitley’s health condition.

Arun Jaitley has been suffering from health-related ailments for a while. In May 2019, he was admitted to AIIMs for some treatment. In 2018 when he was Finance Minister, Jaitley had undergone renal transplant on May 14, 2018. He couldn’t attend office from April 2018 till August 23, 2018. Piyush Goyal had acted as Finance Minister in substitute of Arun Jaitley. Earlier in September 2014, Jaitley had underwent bariatric surgery to correct the weight he had gained due to his long-standing diabetic condition.

A lawyer by profession and a very good orator, he has been the most important leader in Narendra Modi’s Cabinet in Modi’s first tenure. Jaitley is often seen as the chief troubleshooter for the government. Due to health issues, Jaitley did not contest Lok Sabha elections of 2019.
