In what it could be a major step in battling the Coronavirus crisis, the Andhra Pradesh government announced that from the 1st of May, people above 18 will be vaccinated for free in the state.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy announced the decision after chairing a key meeting with the Covid Cabinet Sub-Committee and concerned officials at the CM Camp Office in Tadepalli.
To see that no issue will arise on vaccine availability, CM Jagan spoke to the Managing Directors of Bharat Biotech and Hetero Drugs. He asked the MDs to send vaccine doses in adequate numbers.
For the third phase of the Covid-19 vaccination drive to vaccinate people above 18 in the state, the government is going to spend a whopping budget of around Rs 1600 crores.
On the other hand, the Andhra Pradesh government imposed a night curfew to curb the infections, which will be coming into effect from Saturday. The AP government has fixed 10 PM to 5 AM.
