Team India led by Hitman Rohit Sharma scripted history by winning the Border-Gavaskar trophy. The Men In Blue retained the trophy with a 2-1. If the Indore pitch had not worked differently then it would have been a 3-1 win. On top of this, India got selected for the World Test Championship final against Australia.
Talking about the Test win, star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and acre spinner Ravichandran Ashwin played a big role. They were the top picks in wickets. Ashwin broke Anil Kumble’s records of highest five-wicket hauls and highest wickets in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
The situation would have been different if the two-star players had not performed. Where other bowlers struggled, the two came in handy for the team. For their valuable contributions, they were awarded the Man Of The Series jointly.
Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja celebrated the award in style with Naatu Naatu style. They recreated the Naatu Naatu song and shared it online. In the video, we can see the two players walking by placing their hands on each other’s shoulders.
The video starts with Ravichandran Ashwin and Jadeja recreating a scene from a famous Bollywood song and then walking while the Naatu Naatu song plays in the background. As the whole nation is celebrating the Oscars moment of RRR, the moment caught everyone’s attention.
At the post-match presentation, Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin were awarded the Player of Series trophy jointly. In the comeback series, Jadeja shined and took the second-highest number of wickets in the series. He missed a few tournaments with his injury and gave a big performance in Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
Ashwin was the highest wicket-taker in the series with 25 wickets. In this regard, Ashwin became the highest wicket-taker in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy among Indians and joint-highest bowler with Australia’s Nathan Lyon.
Star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja claimed 22 wickets in the series and became second highest wicket-taker. The two spinners played a big role in India’s win in the border-Gavaskar Trophy. Though Jadeja could not contribute much with the bat, he shined with the ball for the team. India will now focus on the ODI series with Australia.
