Bandi Sanjay remanded in 14 days’ judicial custody

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Telangana president and Karimnagar member of Parliament Bandi Sanjay Kumar has been remanded to 14 days for judicial custody after he was charged for breaking Covid-19 norms, assaulting police, and other provisions of the Disaster Management Act. The police presented the MP in Karimnagar district court today.

Bandi Sanjay was arrested on Sunday for initiating a Jagaran Deeksha. He performed it to demand the KCR government to amend GO 317 and treat teachers and employees reasonably.

Along with the MP, other party leaders were also arrested two hours after the Deeksha was started. The police forced their way into Sanjay’s office, breaking open the locks of the meeting hall’s doors.

Meanwhile, the court has rejected the bail application by the MP. The police have filed non-bailable charges against him. Four other people, besides Bandi Sanjay, were denied bail.
