BCCI Urges Kohli to Resign!

With name comes fame, and with fame- more roles. It’s the case with Indian cricket skipper Virat Kohli, who earned popularity with his stunning game on the field and that followed by rewards, cheque, public sector jobs and more.

Crediting his impressive work for team India, the government has offered him a senior-level job role in ONGC (Oil and Natural Gas Corporation). But, now, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has reportedly asked him to give up his job at ONGC because of conflict of interest issue.

The board made this decision following an advise by Supreme court-appointed Committee, that suggested no cricketer should hold any positions at government and public sector companies. This action by BCCI would majorly impact Delhi-based cricketers like Gautam Gambhir, Virender Sehwag and Ishant Sharma, who earned various public-sector roles attributing to their work for team India.

It’s no doubt that Virat Kohli is one top performer in the team and it now remains to be seen how the move by Indian Cricket board enhance him as a cricketer.
