Telugu cinema has witnessed numerous Tamil film remakes over the years, but only a select few manage to capture the hearts of the audience and achieve remarkable box office success. One such film was the 2016 blockbuster ‘Bichagadu’ starring Vijay Antony, which shattered records and garnered sensational collections in Telugu.
Now, the much-anticipated sequel titled ‘Bichagadu 2,’ helmed by Vijay Antony himself, is set to hit the screens on May 19 in a grand manner. With the release date drawing near, the film’s unit has intensified their promotional activities, generating significant buzz.
‘Bichagadu 2,’ a sequel to the highly acclaimed film that established Vijay Antony’s reputation in Telugu cinema, has secured impressive pre-release business in Tamil and has also created an impact in the Telugu states.
Notably, the film has done a theatrical business of Rs. 2.20 crores in Nizam, Rs. 1.00 crore in Ceded, and a total of Rs. 2.80 crores in Andhra, amounting to a theatrical business of Rs. 6.00 crores in the Telugu states.
The combined theatrical business of ‘Bichagadu 2’ in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana stands at Rs. 6.00 crores, with a break-even target of Rs. 6.50 crores in Telugu alone. Additionally, when considering the Tamil version’s earnings, the movie has amassed a business of over Rs. 16.00 crores. It is set to release across a total of 1000 theaters.
