Remember dynamic and enthusiastic young IAS officer Amrapali Kata?
The officer, who had earned an excellent name for her pro-active measures as Collector of Warangal was later shifted to Hyderabad as deputy commissioner in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC).
Later, Amrapali was pushed into a further loop line post of joint CEO officer in the office of chief electoral officer Rajat Kumar. Since then, she has been lying low.
A 2010-batch IAS officer, Amrapali got married to her friend Sameer Sharma, an IPS officer of Diu and Daman Union Territory, during her stint as Warangal Collector.
Since then, she had been quietly trying for her deputation to the Centre so as to be with her husband.
On Monday, the Central government issued orders, appointing Amrapali as the deputy secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat, which directly reports to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. She would be on deputation in this post for a period of four years.
Apparently, the Telangana government itself has recommended her name for deputation to the Centre following her request. And Amrapali got the lucky posting!
