Bigg Boss Telugu season 5 hosted by Nagarjuna Akkineni is finally on-air (September 5). Unlike the routine, host Nagarjuna Akkineni introducing 19 contestants in the premiere, the highest so far in the TV series in Telugu and locking them inside the BB house. This season has an interesting line up of contestants that includes actors, TV celebs and social media influencers as well. Here’s a quick look at the confirmed list of contestants in BB Telugu 5.
02/18Ravi
Anchor Ravi, who is the telly audiences’ favourite entertainer, is touted to be a part of the upcoming season. He shot to fame as a Video Jockey with the music show Something Special featuring Lasya Manjunath as his co-host. He went on to work as a Radio Jockey in a FM channel for over 2 years. His popularity grew multifold with the game show Pataas which he co-hosted with Sreemukhi for a long while and later with Varshini Sounderrajan as well. His recently launched show ‘Happy Days’ which he is co-hosting with BB Telugu 3 fame Ashu Reddy has been entertaining fans.
03/18Sarayu Roy
Sarayu Roy is popular for her adult comedy content on YouTube and Facebook. Her short video ‘Sarayu Clinic lo Pellichoopulu’ went viral on social media. She commands a nice following for her online content and has over 35.1k followers on Instagram. Sarayu is also known for her online reviews as well.

Born and brought up in Hyderabad, Lahari Shari is an actress, anchor and model who has appeared in many Telugu movies. Lahari made her acting debut with the movie Sorry Naku Pellaindi in the year 2016. She later worked as a news presenter for news channels. She shot to fame with her performance as a nurse in the blockbuster Telugu film Arjun Reddy. Lahari is now entering the BB house hoping for a ‘Bigg’ break.
05/18Maanas Nagulapalli
This Koilamma actor’s successful stint on TV has made him one of the most probable contestants of the season. He started his career quite early as a child actor with the 2001 Telugu film Narasimha Naidu and has even won the prestigious Nandi award for his exceptional performance. Having made his debut as a male lead with Zhalak (in 2015), he went on to feature in the films Kai Raja Kai, Premikuda, Goli Soda, etc. On the TV front, Maanas appeared in the Doordarshan show Pithrudevobhava and Bhale Chancele. However, she shot to fame with the show Koilamma, produced by eminent filmmaker K Raghavendra Rao and the daily soap Deeparadhana featuring Prabhakar and Priyanka Naidu in the lead roles.

The TV actress is known for her performance in daily soaps like Evare Nuvvu Mohini, Agnisakshi & Savitramma Gari Abbayi. Siri Hanmanth was also popular for her YouTube shows like Madam Sir, Madam Anthe and Ram Leela. She is all set to test her luck in the controversial reality TV show, Bigg Boss Telugu season 5.

Priyanka Singh, the latest addition to Bigg Boss season 5, is an actress and comedian based in Hyderabad. She becomes the second transgender woman to enter the Bigg house, after Tamannah from Bigg Boss Telugu- season 4. Priyanka Singh fought her way to the face of mainstream entertainment; thanks to her successful journey with Jabardasth, a popular comedy TV show that needs no introduction. Although she joined Jabardasth initially to only ‘play’ female characters, it is her association with the show and the thousands of her TikTok platform followers that gave her the much-needed courage and strength to get the gender reassignment surgery, and helped her transition to her desired gender, and desired life. Priyanka took a break from her projects to focus on her health, and is back to the bigg screen to do what she does best.

The popular playback singer-turned-actor Sreerama Chandra, who shot to fame with Indian Idol, is a part of the upcoming season. He has featured in many regional singing reality shows before his big break in the form of Indian Idol. Along with a celebrated singing career in Telugu, he made his acting debut with the Telugu movie Sri Jagadguru Aadi Shankara in 2013 alongside none other than actor-BB Telugu host Nagarjuna himself. He made a few special TV appearances in the shows Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Telugu and the comedy show ‘Comedy Stars’ hosted by Sreemukhi recently.
09/18Shailaja Priya
Shailaja Priya, popularly known as Priya, is an Indian actress who primarily appeared in Telugu feature films and serials, and has also done a few Hindi and Tamil language films, too. She has also had a glamorous television career as well. She received the prestigious Nandi Award presented by the government of Andhra Pradesh for her note-worthy performance in the serial Priya Sakhi. She went on to play prominent roles in shows like Vaani Rani, Nandini vs Nandini, Chinna Kodalu, No.1 Kodalu, to name a few. Having worked with the best of the best of the film and television industries, Priya is now set to take on one of the biggest television reality shows, Bigg Boss Telugu- Season 5
10/18Anee Master
This popular choreographer-TV judge is also a part of the upcoming fifth edition. Anee quit studies after class X due to her dream to pursue a career in dance. Anee was one of the finalists in the TV show Kaboom judged by Prabhu Deva. She made her debut as a choreographer with Jyothi Lakshmi and choreographed over 25 songs so far. Anee was quite successful on Telugu television as well. She has judged the popular dance series Dhee along with co-judges Sekhar Master and Priyamani. She recently appeared in the popular game show Sixth Sense as well.
11/18VJ Sunny
The Kalyana Vaibhogam actor is yet another popular TV celeb who is upping his game with participation in BB Telugu 5. Sunny’s performance as Allaudin in a play got him a chance in yet another play. He started his career as the host of the TV show ‘Just For Men’ and later on worked as a page 3 and lifestyle reporter in a news channel. He hogged the limelight as a VJ and also worked as a page 3 journalist interviewing celebrities. He soon forayed into acting with Kalyana Vaibhogam where he played the lead role of Jaisurya aka Jai. He has earned a loyal fan base with his performance in the show.

Uma Devi aka Bhagyam of Karthika Deepam fame is an interesting name on the list of the contestants. She is playing a key role in the show and a few other daily soaps as well. Uma Devi is planning to up the ante with her participation in the upcoming season 5 of BB Telugu.

Hamida, is an Indian film acctress, who has appeared in Telugu movies like Sahasam Seyyara Dimbaka in the year 2015. She has taken Bigg Boss fans by surprise with her entry into Bigg Boss Telugu season 5.
14/18Shanmukh
This social media influencer recently made headlines for being charged with drunken driving. He is now a part of the upcoming edition of Bigg Boss Telugu. The fact that social media influencers hogged limelight in BB Telugu 4 is fueling rumours about his participation in season 5. Notably, his rumoured beau Deepthi Sunaina was a contestant on Bigg Boss Telugu season 2.

This Radio Jockey-anchor from Vijayawada is most likely to be seen on BB Telugu season 5. Besides RJing, Kajal used to host events across the Telugu states. Known for her sweet voice, Kajal also struck gold with her dubbing stint that kicked off with 2009 Telugu film Ninnu Kalisaka. She has reportedly dubbed for female leads in many notable daily soaps. Kajal is also a social media influencer with vlogs and food challenge videos and often entertains fans on social media with her lip-sync and dance videos.
