The encounter of Disha rapists is drawing applause from all corners of the country except from the BJP. There is a mixed reaction from the BJP leaders. MPs Smriti Irani, Rajyavardhan Rathore, Uma Bharti and few more leaders have made comments in favour of the encounter and congratulated the Telangana while another MP commented the otherwise.
The MP is Menaka Gandhi and speaking to the media at Parliament premises, she said, the police can’t take law into their hands so easily. The accused would have been hanged by the court anyhow.
BJP and RSS sympathizer, Ramdev Baba said, “What police has done is very courageous and I must say that justice has been delivered. Legal questions over it are a different matter, but I am sure people of the country are at peace now.”
West Bengal BJP MP Locket Chatterjee said these sort of encounters should be made legal. This is a completely different take.
This is a clear case of confusion and no coordination within the party regarding crime against women issue. But it doesn’t matter for now as people say that justice is delivered.
