When BJP joined hands with Chandra Babu Naidu in 2014, many people thought that this alliance would last long. Within 4 years, Chandra Babu ruined everything between them by failing to handle extra pressure on the AP special status issue. But, there is much more off the record on CBN cutting ties with BJP. Special status is just an excuse for that.
Naidu, who used to play a political chess game wanted to checkmate Jagan using BJP’s power at the center. But, the center cleverly neglected Naidu’s benefits in Jagan’s disproportionate assets cases as they doubted CBN’s dominance in the state very early, Now, after some years, Jagan evolved as the mightiest force in the state making TDP a puppet in the 2019 assembly elections.
In the meantime, CBN is very irritated to see Modi giving many appointments to Jagan as he still wants BJP to join with the TDP at the state. But, BJP has other plans. Right from the beginning, BJP doesn’t maintain any long-lasting bonding or emotional attachments with any party. All they want is the expansion of their party all over the country and they make moves accordingly.
Now, BJP wants to play the role of the second fiddle in AP through their alliance with Janasena party. Hence, tactically, they created some uproar from the Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay on the TTD lands issue. So, BJP has already made a statement that they have turned anti-Jagan to establish their base in the AP as they believe that there is no party other than them can stand in Jagan’s mania in AP. The cancellation of Amit Shah’s appointment to Jagan is also a part of that.
So, if BJP turns ani-Jagan officially, they have to play the Hindu card as there are a number of allegations on the AP CM that he shows his favoritism towards Christianity which is a very impactful and influential vote bank for YSR and Jagan over the years. If BJP succeeds to disturb the balance in the YSRCP party and the state politics, Jagan who just entered into his second year as CM will have to face extreme difficulties in the future. Then AP state politics will be very interesting to watch.
