Bombay HC approves bail for Rhea while denies Showik’s plea

Today morning the Bombay High Court approves bail to Bollywood actor Rhea Chakraborty in an alleged drugs scandal case in connection to the Sushant Singh Rajput’s demise. Although Rhea was granted bail on a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh, the high court, however denied the pleas appealed by her brother Showik and Abdel Basit Parihar.

The HC also approved bail to late actor’s cook Dipesh Sawant and his house manager Samuel Miranda on a personal bond of Rs. 50,000 each.

The Narcotics Control Bureau had labelled her as an “active member of a drug syndicate”. Rhea was detained by the NCB on September 8, on accusations of being a part of a drug trafficking running illicitly in Mumbai. Her brother Showik was arrested on September 4. Her bail plea was rejected by the special court, subsequently she has sought justice by appealing the Bombay High court about witch hunt and incrimination. Since her arrest, Rhea has been imprisoned in Byculla jail cell. Reportedly, a special court has prolonged their judicial custody till October 20.

Chakraborty’s lawyer, Satish Manshinde claimed truth and justice finally prevailed. He said that the submission of facts have been accepted by Justice Sarang V Kotwal.
