Bollywood Producer and late Sridevi’s husband Boney Kapoor falls into trouble after he has been accused of cheating a man named Praveen Shyam Sethi from Jaipur. Praveen has registered the case at Pratap Nagar (Jaipur) police station against the producer and two others, Mustafa and Pawan Jangid, for allegedly duping him over Celebrity Premier League tournament by taking Rs 2.5 core.
The complainant Praveen said that he met cricket league director Pawan Jangid first with the help of a mutual friend last year. He alleged that Pawan Jangid told him Boney Kapoor and Mustafa are also the partners in the Celebrity Premier League. Trusting him, Praveen invested Rs 2.5 crore along with his friends and also met Boney Kapoor at a hotel in Jawahar Circle. He went on to reveal that the Producer convinced him that the investment will give him a double profit in the cricket league as he is one of the first investors.
But, the tournament never happened and when asked for the money back, the trio did not respond. The case has been filed by police under Sections 420 (Cheating), 406 (Criminal Breach of Trust) and 120-B (Criminal Conspiracy) of IPC. However, the producer is yet to release a statement on this.
