The national capital, New Delhi once again rocked with protests on Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizens (NRC). Once again the protesters were targeted but this time, an unidentified man opened fire with a gun.
This incident happened near the Jamia Millia Islamia in south Delhi and the video of the man brandishing the gun is being widely share don the social media. In the video, the shooter was seen shouting ‘Jai Shri Ram’ slogan and ‘Yeh Lo Azadi’ (take your freedom) warning the protesters.
What’s surprising is that the Delhi police were right behind the man when he was shouting with a gun in his hand and did nothing. It was only the shooter who was going backwards reached the police and then he was nabbed.
In this incident, a Jamia Millia student was injured and he was rushed to AIIMS for treatment. The victim is identified as Shadab from Jammu and Kashmir.
In this video, the shooter can be seen firing before the police finally springs to life and grabs him. As he is bundled into a police vehicle, the media asks for his name, he shouts 'Rambhakt Gopal'. pic.twitter.com/MZcR11tsmd
