The main opposition Telangana Congress and TDP have decided to counter KCR’s charisma with filmy glamour and launched a hunt for film personalities to give a new lease of life also.
While TDP is planning to utilize the filmy glamour of yesteryear film heroine Jayasudha, Congress is readying to use the stardom of Vijayashanthi in the party programs and campaigns. The two parties also engaged talks with several film personalities like character artists hailed from Telangana – Venu Madhav, Uttej, Vennela Kishore and Udhay Bhanu and Siva Reddy.
Besides, the two parties are making arrangements to create cultural troops on the lines the TRS cultural organization headed by the party MLA Rasamai Balakishan was performing in the party activities.
The party is consulting the film actors. Venu Madhav, who maintained close relations with TDP since years, expressed his readiness to take part in the meetings. Another popular comedian Veenela Kishore was approached recently. As the time for next Assembly elections is left two years only, the party would leave no stone unturned and the role of filmy glamour would add an advantage to strengthen the party.
While the Telangana Congress leaders said that the ‘charisma’ of Vijayashanthi would be utilized as she already maintained the status of ‘crowed puller’ during her stay in the TRS. Her oratory skills would also help to counter KCR’s popularity. The film actor turned political leader has been maintaining distance from active politics in the party since 2014 election. The party is also consulting noted comedians Shiva Reddy and Uttej and requested them to join congress. Another character artist Jayaprakash Reddy was also consulted.
