Senior IPS officer AB Venkateswara Rao who was suspended by the YSRCP government in the first week of February, received a shock from the union government. Venkateswara Rao was suspended on corruption allegations. However the IPS officer approached Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) and his suspension order was reserved.
But the Centre has investigated the allegations on Venkateswara Rao and acknowledged that the IPS officer was involved in irregularities. The IPS officer is said to be have hand in procurement of Aerostat, Unmanned aerial vehicle and UAV worth Rs 25.5 crore. Regarding the Centre has asked Chief Secretary of the state to do a detailed investigation and prepare a report by April.
The Centre’s note also added to file a chargesheet against Venkateswara Rao by April 7th. Looks like the former intelligence chief is in all sorts of trouble.
