Andhra Pradesh former Chief Minister and the TDP supremo Chandra Babu Naidu is facing huge criticism over his comments on the liquor ban in AP. It is known that as a part of the relaxations allowed to all state governments under the extension lockdown 3.0, the AP government has permitted the sale liquor from yesterday all over the state.
Now, Chandra Babu Naidu opined that it is the right time to impose a complete ban on alcohol in Andhra Pradesh which is one of the promises made by the ruling YSRCP in the pre-poll period. Many people criticized Naidu for these comments in a time where the whole state is suffering a huge economic crisis.
More ever, Naidu has 40 years of political experience and he knows the importance of the liquor and tobacco sale in a crisis period as they are the chief aspects that can compensate the lost revenue due to the lockdown. Barring all these sense-making points and logics CBN has the worst past with the liquor ban policy.
Back in 1992, when NTR Sr. was the Chief Minister of the united Andhra Pradesh, the TDP party imposed a liquor ban in the state. When Naidu took over the power from NTR he lifted the ban and promoted liquor sales in the state. Now, mentioning this incident, many netizens are trolling Babu for his double standards.
