Chandrababu to focus on building TDP in Telangana

The party is down and out. It’s MLAs have all left the party to join the TRS. The famed cadre is suffering a melt-down. The state party president has recently quit the party. Yet, Telugu Desam Party chief Chandrababu Naidu strongly feels that the TDP has a bright future in Telangana. At a time when the party office is wearing a deserted look and no one is even bothering to visit the state headquarters, Chandrababu Naidu still has oodles of optimism left about Telangaa TDP.

Once again, Chandrababu has promised the leaders from Telangana that he would devote time to rebuild the party in Telangana. Interestingly, he said the same thing after the 2018 and 2019 elections , when the party suffered ignominious defeat in the elections. He held review meetings and said he would focus on Telangana. Despite residing in Telagnana for the past two years, he has not cared to visit TDP headquarters. He has not held even a single meeting of the Telangana unit. Yet, he has promised to allocate time for the party in Telagnana.

He told the party leaders who attended a meeting held at his Jubilee Hills residence that Telangana was fast growing into a multi-party political system, where every political party will have its own sphere of political influence. He said that hence the TDP has a great future in Telagnana and that it can revive itself.

The party leaders present at the meeting have authorized Chandrababu Naidu to select the next president of the party. L Ramana, till recently the TTDP chief, has resigned and joined the TRS. This has necessitated the selection of another president for the Telagnana unit. Chandrababu will discuss with the senior leaders and party functionaries before zeroing on the name of the next president. He will also appoint five working presidents for the party. Interestingly, there are no working presidents for the party in Andhra Pradesh, which is the second largest party.
