Chandrayaan 2 Crossed Big Milestone

Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has achieved one milestone in its Moon mission. Chandrayaan 2 has entered the Moon orbit (Lunar Orbit) this morning and is on its way towards Moon. ISRO has tweeted about it’s progress so far.

ISRO estimates that Chandrayaan 2 could take another two weeks time to land on Moon and the approx date is September 7th. This phase of entering Lunar Orbit is important for the mission as Chandrayaan 2 passes away from the Earth’s gravitational force and will fall in Moon’s gravity.

Yet from here on the critical stages of the mission starts and all depends on the outer space conditions. Also, the velocity and altitude of the spacecraft play a key role in landing on Moon. If Chandrayaan 2 makes a safe landing, India will join the elite club alongside US, Russia and China to have land on Moon. Earlier this year Israel attempted but the mission was unsuccessful. Also, India has planned landing where no other country has ever attempted.

Chandrayaan 2 is the most cheapest space mission which is worth just about Rs 1000 crore very less when compared to the above-mentioned countries.
