The arrest of Chidambaram by ED and CBI has not just created a big political uproar nationally but it is also inviting reactions from international leaders. Pakistan, which has been trying to trouble India globally over Kashmir issue, has got a handy with the arrest of Chidambaram.
Pakistan MP Rehman Malik has alleged that Chidambaram was targeted by Modi government for raising his voice against the government on Kashmir issue. Malik alleged that Chidamabaram was arrested solely for being critical about Modi government. He condemned Chidambaram’s arrest.
Describing Chidambaram as the ‘Next Prime Minister of India’, Malik went onto praise Chidambaram as an efficient political leader with vast political expertise. Malik went onto defend Chidambaram stating that Chidambaram’s only mistake was to go against Modi government.
Chidambaram had served as Union Home Minister and Union Finance Minister. He is one of the senior leaders of the Congress. While Congress has been rallying its full support to its leader, Pakistan Senator’s comments have become hot topic. Malik has been highly critical of PM Modi. Malik’s tweets and comments against Modi and RSS have not gone down well with a lot of Indians. His comments on Chidambaram are now irking Congress party as well.
