Megastar Chiranjeevi tasted a huge disaster recently in the form of ‘Bholaa Shankar’. It looks like he seems to have understood the current trend but stated that there is no parallel to hard work. He recently took part in the book launch of a senior journalist. During the media interaction, Chiru talked about heroism as she cracked some jokes saying that it is enough to make movies where he just walks and mouths dialogues and music composers will elevate the rest with background scores instead of tiring the body with fights and dances all the time.
He did not talk about a particular film but people instantly remembered ‘Jailer’. This Rajnikanth film got over 600 crores and all superstar did in the film was walk stylishly and mouth powerful dialogues. He neither danced nor fought during the entire movie. It is Anirudh who took the movie to another level with his music. In this instance, Chiranjeevi did not make a joke on Rajnikanth but talked about what kind of movies the audience are liking these days.
But what Chiranjeevi stated was that the audience won’t accept him in such movies as they expect him to do dances and fights all the time. While wanting to do all these at this age is great but it is equally important to have a solid script and capable director who wants to tell a story rather than cash in on Chiru’s stardom. Also, it is high time that Megastar stops doing remakes and even fans are wanting to see Chiranjeevi in mature roles which has scope for heroism. The veteran is taking a risk by touching the fantasy genre for his 157th film. Let us see what happens.
