It is known that TDP leader and former minister Ponguru Narayana was arrested by the Andhra Pradesh Police in Hyderabad in connection with the SSC Class 10 exam paper leak at Narayana School in Tirupati.
The police reached his residence in Kondapur, Hyderabad and detained him in the wee hours of Tuesday.
However, the founder of Narayana Educational Institutions was granted bail by a local court at Chittoor on Wednesday.
Lawyers representing Narayana told the magistrate that the former minister had stepped down from the administrative functions of the Narayana Educational Institutions and he had no connections with the colleges now.
After examining the arguments, the local magistrate at Chittoor granted bail to Narayana on a personal surety supported by two sureties.
