CM Jagan announces ex-gratia to kin of 2 soldiers from AP martyred in Maoist Attack

In a heart-wrenching incident, 23 security personnel were killed and 33 injured on Saturday in one of the deadliest Maoist ambushes. This incident has shaken the entire nation, and two soldiers from Andhra Pradesh were also among the martyred.

Jawan Routhu Jagdeesh of Gajularegaku in Vijayanagaram district and Shakhamuri Murali Krishna of Gudipudi village in Sattanapalli Mandal of Guntur district were shot dead by Maoists.

AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has expressed deep shock over the incident. He said violence is not acceptable in a democracy.

Expressing his deep condolences to the families of the two soldiers, the CM announced financial assistance of Rs 30 lakh to the families. He directed the officials to promptly grant financial help to the families of the victims.

On the other hand, Union Home Minister Amit Shah along with Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel visited Jagdalpur this morning to pay homage to the bodies of 14 martyrs. Amit Shah then visited the area where the jawans were attacked. He also visited the families of the victims who were receiving treatment.
