CM Jagan inaugurates Airport in Kurnool talks about Judicial Capital

YSRCP chief, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who is on Kurnool tour currently has inaugurated the Orvakal Airport, which marks the sixth Airport in Andhra Pradesh.

The Orvakal Airport was named after Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy, who is often regarded as the first freedom fighter from the Telugu land. The airport is spread across 1008 acres.

Speaking after the inauguration of the airport, CM Jagan alleged that the previous government held a ribbon-cutting program a month before the 2019 elections and they did this to bluff the people.

Our Government took the airport construction as a serious issue and the airport with all the required facilities was completed in 18 months of time. The airport was constructed at a budget of Rs 153 crore he said.

Talking about the decision to name the airport after Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy, CM Jagan said the freedom fighter had fought for the farmers with the British leaders. The airport was named to honour him, Jagan said.

On this occasion, Jagan spoke about developing Kurnool as the Judiciary capital of Andhra Pradesh. The airport was made available in the city which will be emerging as the judicial capital.

As per the AP Government’s historic decision, the state will have three capitals- one each for Judicial, Executive, and Legislature respectively. Earlier the government has allocated 250 acres of land for the High Cord Town Ship near the city outskirts.
