A high-level review meeting took place in Telangana that was chaired under the leadership of Chief Minister KCR. Transco CMD Prabhakar Rao and TSRTC MD Sajjannar were also present at the meeting that was held on Tuesday. Crucial issues were discussed during the meeting reportedly.
The pending issues in the TSRTC are also said to have come up during the meeting. The demand battling for the increase of the ticket fares in RTC buses that has to be going on post-pandemic period was discussed reportedly. RTC is in the middle of the losses with the lockdown and soaring prices of diesel.
The money spent by the TSRTC to maintain the buses had resulted in the losses piling up. To help the corporation come out of the losses, the RTC had placed the demand to hike the ticket prices.
As a bid to reduce the losses, the decision of hiking the ticket prices was taken during the review meeting reportedly. The fares are expected to be hiked by more than 10 percent.
On the other hand, KCR was reportedly informed by the Transco CMD that the electric charges should be hiked as the utility company had gone through a lot of losses during the pandemic period. As a response to this, the Chief Minister reportedly said that these issues will be discussed in the cabinet meeting.
