There was a time when Puri Jagannath used to have at least 3 new releases per year. Things weren’t the same now & the Filmmaker has to blame himself for delivering films with below-par content.
‘Temper’ was Puri’s last commercial success. All the three films (Jyothi Lakshmi, Loafer, ISM) released after this Cop Drama were disasters. In the past six months, Puri has approached NTR, Venkatesh & Balakrishna but none of those projects materialized. Tarak shelved his project with Puri after ‘ISM’ flopped. Though Venky gave his consent, Remuneration demanded by the Director has delayed this venture. A conclusion wasn’t reached even in the case of Balayya’s Project. If Puri slashes his pay package in view of his recent failures, Several Production Houses & Heroes will come forward to work with him.
Looks like, ‘Rogue’ is the only hope for Puri Jagannath at present. If this flick ends as a failure, He might make yet another film with Ishaan to honour the 3-film deal with Kannada Producer CR Manohar.
