Ever since the Huzurabad by-elections has been announced in Telangana. Former Minister Konda Surekha, who is often dubbed as a firebrand leader is said to be one of the frontrunners for the Congress ticket for the by-polls. However, the applications received by the TPCC have something else to say.
Reports say that the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee(TPCC) had received 18 applications from the aspirants for the Huzurabad by-elections by the evening of Sunday evening. But the name of the firebrand leaders is reportedly missing from the application list.
As per the political circles, Konda Surekha had purposefully not filed the application as she felt that the TPCC had approached her to run the elections, and again filing the nomination needs no sense.
Her move had pushed the TPCC into a big dilemma on how to deal with the situation. If she was picked for the election as the candidate, those who have applied earlier will not be happy. Sidelining senior leaders will send the wrong message to the leaders.
To pacify the senior leaders, the TPCC is said to be in plans to officially push the last date for the filing of the applications for the aspirants. To give a scenery that the election process will be done as per the rules and the final candidate will be picked from the applications. For this, the TPCC should convince Surekha to follow the formalities.
On the other hand, the other parties BJP and TRS have already announced their candidates. Eatala Rajender and Gellu Srinivas Yadav will contest from BJP and Congress respectively.
