The recent alleged gang rape case in Jubilee Hills has raised many concerns about the safety of women. The opposition parties and the activists started comparing the stats with other states to see how safe Hyderabad is for women. Adding intensity to the issue, an MLA from the Telangana wing of BJ leaked the pictures and videos of the accused.
MLA Raghunandan Rao made everyone talk about him by leaking the pictures and videos. Though he wanted to prove the alleged involvement of children from big families, his actions were questioned as many asked what about the identity of the victim which is now exposed.
As a result, a case was filed against him by the cops for making the identity of the victim public which is not permitted by the law. Reacting to the development, the T-BJP MLA said that he has done no wrong and he knows how to defend himself in this row.
Amid this, senior Congress leader and former Rajya Sabha member Renuka Chowdhury demanded that Raghunandan Rao should leak the videos so that everyone will know who were involved in this. Having said that, she even asked the MLA to name the accused if he knows.
However, she defended the cops in this regard and opined that revealing the pictures and videos is not right and she sees no mistake in what the cops did. Having said that, Renuka Chowdhury observed that the cops are not probing the matter seriously.
