Mohammed Shami is one of the prominent bowlers for Team India right now. Irrespective of the format, he will represent the team and gives a key breakthrough whenever it is required. He is in a good position in the professional space. However, he is not having a good time personally.
His estranged wife Hasin Jahan earlier made sensational allegations about the player including match-fixing. Earlier an arrest warrant was issued against him. However, he moved a lower court and got a big relief as the court issued a stay order on this.
Giving a big twist to the case, Hasin Jahan moved the Supreme Court seeking directives to lift the stay on his arrest. His estranged wife filed the sensational plea on Thursday and the Supreme Court gave some key orders.
Hearing a petition, the Supreme Court gave directives to the sessions court in West Bengal to decide on the case in one month. The Apex Court was talking about the domestic violence case that was filed against Mohammed Shami.
Based on the petitions, an arrest warrant was issued against the fast bowler back in 2019. However, Shami moved the Kolkata High Court and got relief. Hearing a petition that was filed by Shami, the court gave a stay on this.
The Supreme Court bench led by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud heard the petition and directed the sessions court to address the issue in less than one month. Having said that the Apex Court also said that the orders modifying the order of stay can be given if the case is not revisited in one month.
