With a spike in the number of Covid-19 cases across the country, people have started speculating that the second wave has already begun. This is directly affecting the film industry now as a few Bollywood releases are being postponed as audiences are not stepping out to watch movies in theatres, fearing the risk of Covid transmission.
Coming to the topic, the shooting of Mahesh Babu’s Sarkaru Vaari Paata has been canceled.
The unit planned to shoot a key schedule in Goa but they had to back out in the last minute, owing to spike in Covid cases. They had already called off the Dubai schedule recently and now, the Goa schedule is also canceled.
The makers are prioritising the safety of the cast and crew above all. They will resume shoot only after favourable conditions emerge.
Mahesh has asked the makers to complete the shooting by August or September this year so that he can move on to his subsequent projects.
The Parasuram directorial is up for release next Sankranthi. Mythri Movie Makers and 14 Reels Plus Entertainments are bankrolling it.
