While some international travelers returning to India are escaping from the thermal screening by swallowing a paracetamol pill right before their flight lands on Indian soil, there are high profile celebrities like Kanika Kapoor who escape the screening. The plot has taken a real twist with the singer diagnosed with COVID-19 at a Lucknow hospital other day.
In a move to checkmate such negligent acts of people who behave irresponsibly and spread the virus to others, now the Indian government has decided to take stringent action. Uttar Pradesh police are now set to take legal action on Kanika as they will be filing an FIR against her under Section 269 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
As per Section 269, if anyone spreads infection of any disease that is dangerous to life, in an unlawful or negligent manner is bound to get imprisoned for 6 months or pay fine or both. The matter of Kanika Kapoor will be investigated by Lucknow judiciary and she will be taken into custody after she recovers from coronavirus pandemic.
