Covid effect: Key episode axed out of Balayya-Boyapati film

Nandamuri Balakrishna and Boyapati Sreenu had previously joined hands for super hits like ‘Simha’ and ‘Legend’. The duo will be coming together again for another action entertainer. The movie unit shot a few sequences prior to the imposition of lockdown and the remaining portion will be canned once normalcy is restored.

However, the onset of Covid-19 pandemic is affecting Balayya-Boyapati film in more ways than one. Initially, the producer Miryala Ravindra Reddy capped the budget of the project and urged Boyapati to scale down the action scenes.

Now, Boyapati Sreenu has apparently decided to remove a key sequence in the film, owing to Covid-19 scare.

Previously, Sreenu decided to shoot this particular scene in Himalayas as it was intended to delineate Balakrishna’s Aghora avatar in the film. But traveling to Himalayas for this sole sequence is not in the best interests of the unit now. With the travel restrictions in place, it is tough to acquire permissions for film shootings which usually result in large gatherings. So, the makers decided to change their plans.

Consequently, Boyapati Sreenu has come up with an alternative sequence and it will be shot in Hyderabad. He is presently fine-tuning the script and is waiting for favorable conditions to resume shoot.

The makers of the film are yet to officially announce the female lead. Balakrishna will be seen in two different avatars in the film.
