With a target of 100 MLAs, the ruling TRS party is encouraging defections as part of its ‘Operation Akarsh.’ So far TRS has managed to influence about 6 MLAs of Congress and they have confirmed joining TRS. Last week there were rumours that the hardcore hater of TRS, Jagga Reddy is also looking at the pink flag. But his plans got a break and it is his own daughter who put hurdles for him.
Going into the story, before the assembly elections, Jagga Reddy was arrested by the police in passport scandal. From the day Jagga Reddy was detained, his daughter Jaya Reddy started campaigning for him in Sanga Reddy constituency. Till the last day of election campaign, Jaya Reddy did not rest and worked very hard for father’s victory and we know the result.
Post the elections, Jagga Reddy became soft on TRS and said he would not criticise KCR further. Then came these rumours that Jagga Reddy is all set to join TRS with pressure from his cadre and followers. Having got to know about this Jaya Reddy clarified to her father that at any cost he should stick to Congress. “If TRS lodges cases again, go to jail but don’t join TRS,” is what Jaya told her father.
Giving a thought about it, Jagga Reddy is said to have changed his mind and called off his plans of leaving Congress.
