Deadly Road-Crash Kills 8 Indians In UK

A deadly mini-bus crash has killed at least 8 Indians and wounded four others at Newport Pagnell in Buckinghamshire, UK. In what can be called as most-horrific road crash in last 24 years in British, 2 moving trucks have crushed a 16-seater mini-bus that was carrying 12 passengers.

Out of 8 people who died on the spot, 3 of them are IT employees working with Wipro and the bus driver Cyriac Joseph(52) from Kerala also died in the accident. Women and children, tourists from Chennai, were also among the deceased while all of them belong to Tamil Nadu & Kerala states of India. The deadly accident is ‘worst road accident’ on UK motorway in last 24 years.

According to a report, the minibus was totally flattened after it was hit by a Fedex lorry and AIM Logistics truck. The police officials have taken drivers of both trucks into custody and they will be produced in court.

The U.K/Europe head-operations of Wipro, Ramesh Philips issued an official statement saying, ‘It’s with deep regret and sadness that we confirm the passing away of three of our colleagues: Karthikeyan Ramasubramaniyam Pugulur, Rishi Rajeev Kumar and Vivek Bhaskaran in a tragic road accident in UK.’

Karthikeyan’s five-year old daughter and a woman are being treated at a hospital for serious injuries.
