Deepika At The JNU Protest, Chappaak In Troube?

‘Woman of Steel’, is what the name with many are calling Bollywood’s superstar heroine Deepika Padukone, for her presence at the JNU campus where the protest is going on against CAA and the violence by masked goons, in which many were hospitalized with severe injuries.

Deepika Padukone expressed her solidarity and support to the JNU students at the protest by making her presence felt and she is being applauded for her guts and character, who just did not stick to retweets and condemning statements on social media.

She got emotional as she joins the JNU protest in Delhi and supported them all with her presence. Many Bollywood actors and superstars were criticized for not coming out of the shell to condemn these barbaric assaults on JNU students and Deepika stood apart from them by her physical presence, being a star who can influence millions of people in the country with her exemplary act.

In Mumbai too, there are film stars like Swara Bhaskar, Dia Mirza, Anurag Kashyap, Vishal Bharadwaj, Zoya Akhtar, Taapsee, Richa Chadha who joined the protest at Carter road, against the violence at the JNU. In this gathering, there were other stars like Sudhir Mishra, Rekha Bhardwaj, Anubhav Sinha, Rahul Dholakia, Ali Fazal, Reema Kagti, Hansal Mehta, Vikramaditya Motwane, Saurabh Shukla, Rajkumar Gupta, and Neeraj Ghaywan.

Pinky Chaudhary of Hindu Raksha Dal claimed responsible for the attacks on students at JNU, saying that they won’t be tolerating the ‘anti-national’ activities at the University and wouldnot mind attacking the similar way if any other university in India.

Deepika Padukone taking a stand and supporting JNU students in protest against the violence seems to be bringing a trouble for her upcoming movie Chappaak. BJP leader Tejender singh Bagga called for a boycott of Deepika Padukone’s Chappaak movie.
