Devarkonda’s Charity, A Tool For Publicity?

Doing charity is one thing and one could do it pretty silently like Prakash Raj also. But talking about it hugely, making video statements on it and publicising it to the fullest is not going well with all sections of the society. That too, the way they are implementing this plan seems like a publicity exercise only.

Actually those users who have registered on The Devarakonda Foundation for the help of Rs 1000, will first get a call from the Foundation’s team. Later if they find out that that information revealed by the registered person is true, then they will ask him to go to a departmental store, buy things worth Rs 1000 and post a photo of it along with the bill estimate. Then they are going to put that amount directly in the shop owner’s account through Rupay.

But in which Kirana shop they are giving bills these days? Or in which super bazaar a bill will come out without paying the money? Also if someone wants to buy things from road-side vendors, won’t Devarakonda Foundation help them? Some say that if they give money directly to people, they may not get the images of the groceries, and hence this plan.

Some have even criticised that by donating the money donated by fans to him, the hero is actually trying to get publicity. Rather than he should have asked fans to help the poor, and share that help with him, why does this Foundation is needed in the middle?

First by revealing that they can’t accept the applications anymore, and then saying that he originally intended to help only 2000 people, and now by revealing about the way their foundation works, it looks like Vijay Devarakonda created a more negative image for him than becoming a don of charities.
