Nowadays, many people are infecting their devices with malicious software or fall victims to the malware tricks with websites containing a lot of scam in the form of ads. The recent study suggests that former India cricket captain MS Dhoni is the most dangerous of ‘search for online’ celebrities, leading to malicious websites and malware. The cybercriminals are easily attaching malware or malicious links to Dhoni’s name, making it easier for them to reach their notorious goals.
The study has been conducted by McAfee and released an annual report on the same. McAfee is a cyber security company and it stated that after Dhoni, legend Sachin Tendulkar falls second on the list, followed by Gautam Gulati, winner of the Hindi Bigg Boss S8.
Venkat Krishnapur, Vice-President of Engineering and Managing Director, McAfee India said ‘The significant ease of Internet access, through a host of connected devices has made it increasingly viable for users to avail content from all over the world. As subscription-based content platforms continue to grow in India, viewers look for free and pirated content such as major sports events, movies, TV shows, and images of favourite personalities’.
The top 10 in the list of most dangerous celebrities names go like – Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar, Gautam Gulati, Sunny Leone, pop icon Badshah, Radhika Apte, Shraddha Kapoor, woman cricketer Harmanpreet Kaur, shuttler PV Sindhu and Cristiano Ronaldo. Malware has become extremely sophisticated and it keeps on getting smarter. Clicking on infected links can redirect to adult sites or may corrupt your system data and steal private data.
