DMK Chief MK Stalin takes oath as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister

DMK president MK Stalin was sworn in as chief minister of Tamil Nadu on Friday morning. Governor Banwarilal Purohit administered the oath of office and secrecy to the 68-year-old leader in a low-key ceremony on the lawns of Raj Bhavan in Chennai.

Along with MK Stalin, 34 ministers of his party also took the oath to be appointed in the state cabinet. However, Stalin’s son Udhayanidhi didn’t get any place in the list of ministers.

The state cabinet includes 19 former ministers and 15 fresh faces. It has two women. As per reports, the DMK chief will hold several portfolios including Home, Special Initiatives, General Administration, Special Programme Implementation and Welfare of Differently Abled Persons.

Former deputy chief minister O Panneerselvam, the leaders of DMK allies, were present at the swearing-in ceremony.
